A changing world.

Over recent years UK politics have changed. I always thought Boris was a self centred blustering buffoon who  would have been a better success as a Benny Hill tribute act - so far I have been proved correct. However in today's world when 2nd comings are not uncommon who knows what lies in the future.

With the current change in USA politics and the argued case for the UKs need to increase military expenditure I caste my memory back to the days of the Cold War. The UK then had credible professional defence forces in terms of full time/national service/volunteer reserves. There was a civil defence/ROC/early warning network based on analog communications that were less prone to hacking and EMF damage.

It may be that there are still unknown networks and personal trained and ready to react to civil or wartime emergencies that are not in the public domain but I think this is unlikely?

Is it possible that much of the UK population is more concerned about getting a new tattoo or what's on Sky or Netflix than to worry about their security?

In the last week things have changed, the USA is heading towards isolationism and once again Dads army may seem more relevant?

Perhaps now, more than ever, it is time for all good men to come to the aid of our nation?

Is Trumps ambition for a Nobel peace prize a weakness or a strength?

After a significant interval of time and recent world wide developments I thought it was again  time  to record my thoughts on some of these developments. The people of the USA have decided to elect a guilty fellon as their President turning the world upside down. Black is now sometimes white and down maybe up depending on Presidential decree. After causing an insurrection on loosing his first term in office this wealthy orange man child has again won the highest elected office in one of the UKs many ex-colonies. He has surrounded himself with the worlds richest technocrats  and has set about to carry out his election promises to the American people. In addition many long standing international alliances have been thrown aside reminiscent of Nazi book burning. This once respected republic now seems intent on its own empire building ambitions in relation to Gaza, Canada and Greenland.

European countries have now rightly been forced to consider making significant contributions to their own defence as the old enemy of the Cold War becomes America’s new …? Russian invasion of an independent European state is declared by the US President as the fault of that nation for not giving up rather than calling out the preemptive attack by a Dictator led aggressor state.

We stand on a significant hing in history where all moral codes play second fiddle to personal and national greed.Where lies and false flag comments are used by American politicians and multimillionaires for personal gain. Using democratic methods as used in Nazi Germany a once proud nation is demonstrating how slippery is the slope from the moral high ground to a pit of dispair for ordinary citizens. It is likely that many hundreds of millions of innocent victims will be effected when these this particular pile of shit hits the fan?

The peace dividend has been squandered by the European nations of all political colours and it is now time to use new technologies and AI to re-equip our armed forces. New taxes will be required with a spin off of new jobs and engineering training opportunities. Drone development and laser weapons maybe cheaper than tanks and ships and ammunition stocks must be increased.

Maybe the hard lessons of the 1930s will have to be relearnt but now is not the time for caring people not to speak out and dig deeper into their pockets?
